THE ITEM: I think this would make a “GOOD” if I had it slabbed…. Maybe a 1.8 FAIR/GOOD? At the worst (but I really don’t think so)… I see no obvious signs of restoration, but at this price I’m not going to guarantee it… Everything is tight, I count 64 pages and that seems right. If it don’t to you, let me know… There might be 3 or 4 small rips in the book (on pages), under an inch, I noticed 2… The book is NOT brittle or even very dark…. You may lose that small piece at the top, but it’s fairly attached and will stay there if you don’t forget to watch for it and knock it off… The main “defect” is that rip on mid-spine which does go through the whole book. It is under an inch, maybe an inch at it’s worst. It’s kind of tight (the rip). It’s like someone was going to rip it in half but decided not to…. The next “main defect” would be the flattened out spine. Four Color, Issue #34. Published by DELL January 1944. CGC 4.5 very good plus. Cream to Off-White pages. This is a mid-1940s Dick Tracy issue from the Four Color series. Cover art features a stunning closeup profile rendering of the iconic Dick Tracy, created by Chester Gould. Back cover features more Dick Tracy comic panels, no ads. Chester Gould was the creator of Dick Tracy. He wrote and drew the Dick Tracy comic strip which ran in newspapers from 1931 to 1977. A nice clean-looking book, it shows better than its grade would suggest. Recently graded by the CGC and archived in the newest, heavier case with the modern label. This book has been archived by CGC in a sealed hard plastic case to exclude oxygen and moisture.
