It includes comics of Charlie Brown and his gang. Shermy, Patty, Snoopy, and more! Note: I try my best to fully disclose all defects, and to give an honest description of the comic book. This book has NOT been professionally graded. However, I believe my description gives an accurate assessment of the condition. Please see all photos. 4.0 – 3.5 Overall a very nice comic. Spine staple are present and all pages attached. Defects: Slight spine roll, spine stress & creasing with a few minor color breaks; off-white page color (but no foxing); minor crease on lower right corner (5/8″); 1/4″ x 1/4 hanging tear on back cover; slight fraying along cover’s right edge. This comic does NOT have the following defects. No spine split; No missing pages; Spine staples NOT detached; NO foxing; NO water damage; NO significant crease i. NO page-length crease; pages are NOT brittle; page edges are crisp; no tears or fraying except as mentioned above in “defects”. Huey, Dewey & Louie Appearance Carl Barks (Story & Art) Carl Buettner (Cover) Merrill de Maris (Story). 1 of 5 Graded CGC 4.0 Universal. Four Color #29 Donald Duck (Dell, 1943) CGC VG 4.0 Off-white pages. As one of 78 total graded by CGC non restored to date, this is a tough find for this key book. This issue was drawn entirely by Carl Barks (unlike issue #9 where he shared the art with Jack Hannah), and the lead story “Donald Duck and the Mummy’s Ring” is particularly memorable. As Thomas Andrae noted, this story begins to show the antiquarianism and use of authentic locales… Which distinguishes his work from that of other comic book artists. ” Ron Goulart called “Mummy’s Ring” and similar stories “graphic novels filled with adventure, comedy, satire, and some of the best cartooning to be found in comics. The influence of Barks’ adventure tales on the likes of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, as well as a whole generation of comic book artists, is well-documented. Of course, the name of the “good artist” was not mentioned in the comic itself, nor known to any readers until many years later.
