This sale is for the. Four Color #375: John Carter Of Mars (Dell; Feb 1952). This origin issue features an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 1912 serialized novel, with art by Jesse Marsh. It is the earliest of the three John Carter Four Color issues, the other two being FC #437 (Nov 1952) and FC #488 (1953). All meat, no potatoes (32 story pages, zero ad pages). In my opinion, this copy is in. Very Good Minus (3.5 VG-). There are no missing coupons/panels/pages or tape repairs. Other notable features and flaws include. Moderate wear; abrasive-type ink loss along spine; additional wear along non-spine/open edges; color-breaking and non color-breaking creases and stress lines; light soiling/staining; other lesser blemishes/defects. Worn but supple and intact spine (no splits); ¼ bindery-type tear at spine bottom. Clean staples (no rust); all wraps securely attached at both staples. Off-white inside covers (with non-uniform tanning along top and bottom edges); off-white to white pages; 32 interior pages (8 interior wraps); two name stamps in bottom margin of first page; centerfold securely attached at both staples.
